Dear Modular team,
Congratulations on an interesting and important news. I was a bit surprised and confused by it though as Qualcomm hasn’t had a pro open-source image so far.
It is exciting from a hardware perspective if Mojo lands for the Snapdragon platform on phones & laptops, and perhaps even RISC-V on server and edge. But Linux support on X/X2 elite is still immature.
In any case, the non-Nvidia tier licensing would become weird when Qualcomm support lands. My immediate concerns though are about the permissible open source tier that hopefully isn’t stunted. That Mojo & MAX remain free and open to get into for the hobbyists and open source devs, and those inconspicuous tiny startups who might prefer to be valuable around a niche and not try to be in any billion dollar rush.
