Trying to untangle the strategy behind Qualcomm open-sourcing Mojo (Feedback welcome)

I’m not a compiler engineer or a semiconductor insider, but I spent some time trying to wrap my head around the recent Qualcomm–Modular deal. To an outsider, spending $3.9B and then immediately open-sourcing the core toolchain while keeping support for competitor hardware feels like a fascinating strategic move.

I tried to connect the dots and wrote down a high-level analysis on how this play shifts the AI infrastructure war away from software moats (like CUDA) and back to raw hardware competition.
