Timeline for Windows Support

Dear Modular team,

First of all, thanks for the fantastic work on Mojo so far!

As a maintainer of open-source Python libraries and applications, I am very excited about the possible performance gains through Mojo integration. However, any developer who maintains cross-platform libraries cannot currently use Mojo due to the lack of Windows support. Personally, I would have rewritten parts of my libraries to Mojo a long time ago if it were not for the lack of cross-platform support.

While I do understand that Linux servers for AI inference are the main target group right now, I want to ask nonetheless:

Is there a timeline for supporting Mojo on Windows without WSL?

Thanks and best regards,

Armin

Hey Armin! I can see how this is a practical limitation for the applications you’re developing. I looked up aTrain - very cool project. Unfortunately, Windows support is not on the current Mojo roadmap (which will of course grow and extend over time).

This thread can hopefully provide more context:

We’ll keep the Mojo Roadmap updated as plans develop.
